Perspective: Strengthening the Foundations of Excellence
Davebrook Schools & College, Makogi, successfully concludes the Second Term of the 2025/2026 academic session. Our position remains firm: we do not merely teach; we build future-ready leaders by integrating rigorous scholarship with physical and moral health. This term centered on reinforcing the foundations laid in Term 1, ensuring every pupil in Makogi moves closer to absolute Academic Excellence.
I. Excellence Pillars in Action: Term 2 Highlights
Academic Excellence: Beyond the Classroom
- Lagos Blue Rail Excursion (March 31, 2026): Our learners transitioned from theory to reality by experiencing modern rail technology firsthand. This trip provided direct visibility of the seaport and oil facilities, grounding their classroom learning in national economic reality.
- Assessment Rigor: We conducted continuous assessments in Weeks 3, 6, and 9, concluding with a comprehensive end-of-term examination that showcased impressive academic growth across all levels in Makogi.
- ICT, Coding, and Robotics: To sustain our lead in technological education, we urge parents to provide entry-level laptops. These tools are mandatory for the hands-on ICT, Coding, and Robotics modules that define our modern curriculum.
Social Excellence: Responsibility and Community
- Ministerial Inauguration (Feb 4, 2026): We formally inaugurated a new set of student leaders, providing a platform for learners to master the art of service and responsibility.
- Cultural Day (Feb 27, 2026): The Makogi campus transformed into a vibrant display of Nigeria’s diverse ethnic heritage, fostering unity through traditional music, dance, and attire.
- Motherhood Unhinged (March 13, 2026): We celebrated our iconic mothers in a relaxed, energetic atmosphere, strengthening the vital bond between the school and the home.
Moral Excellence: Health and Integrity
- BMI Monitoring: We prioritize physical development as a facet of moral care, conducting Body Mass Index checks at the term’s start and end to monitor health and provide timely interventions.
- PLIP & Open Day: These programs allowed parents to witness our Moral and Academic standards firsthand, ensuring that the values taught in Makogi are reinforced at home.
